03 — The studio

Where the name comes from

Three parts, one idea: strength with lift, engineering with poetry.

Tungsten

The element with the highest melting point of any metal — and the filament that glows. You can heat it until it shines, and it still holds.

Skylark

A British songbird famous for ascending vertically — singing while it climbs out of sight. Lift with a voice.

Sheffield

A steel city. Northern English pragmatism: no bloat, no noise, no waste. Craft you can hold.

Heavy metal, light wings.

Tungsten Skylark is a software studio rooted in Sheffield’s steel heritage but reaching for the sky. Every app released under the name carries the same visual DNA — the glowing skylark, the squared-brutalist typeface, the graphite-and-amber palette, the nine-theme library you can try above — forming a family of software built with craft, precision, and northern English pragmatism.
